Griffin c
Hello, I am new here and I was hoping for some advice with resources for my depression. Where I live I have no access to any help besides an emergency room. Either a clinic is full and can't take me or they don't accept my insurance. I don't have the time or money to take frequent trips to the nearest city for help either. Does anyone have suggestions for alternate methods to help? Thanks. P.S. I can't find any online resources that take my insurance either.
jazz
Hi Griffin c, welcome. Just wondering whether you have checked whether there are any therapists who may provide email/skype support that would take your insurance? Or maybe you have already tried that? It's all so individual as to what helps with depression, there is the self help option of reading up on the subject - your doctor may be able to suggest various books maybe, though it can be a bit difficult to read much when someone is depressed. I found complementary therapies like aromatherapy quite useful to lift mood, but that would probably involve travelling, unless you could find a therapist who does home visits. I don't know if you've seen this website, it may give you some extra contact options, assuming you are in the US. http://www.affordablecounseling.info/
Victimorthecrime
Hey Griff - call your insurance company. They will read you provider names and mail you a list. I know it for a fact, it's what I do all day.
