cjslife27
My first husband beat me with no mercy. He almost killed me. I got away or so I thought. He is not beating me anymore accept in my dreams. Sometimes I wake up crying because of the dreams. He has been gone for 9 years. I moved a 1000 miles away and remarried. It still doesn't go away. Nothing works. Who he turned me into is just a shell of who I once was. Sometimes I wonder if the only way I can stop the nightmares is to die. But I am too much of a wimp to do anything to stop the pain. My current husband gets mad at me because of it. Sometimes I feel so alone. LaLa
Hello, c.,I'm sorry you're going through this . It sounds like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to me. That's a condition that can be treated successfully, there are several methods. Have you ever tried any therapy?Your husband (and you) could profit from educating himself about PTSD - he would hopefully be more understanding...I know it feels now like suicide would be a relief , but I hope you'll choose to live and to get help and to heal. Good luck, take care!
eyva
Hello!I'm so sorry you had to experience such a terrible thing. I don't know if I'm the right person for consolation, but I would like to do it as best as I can. Firstly, don't think that the only way to get rid of these dreams is death. Then you not only will get rid of these memories, but also the whole of life, which can become happy. You need to have hope and even confidence to improve. Then, look for a specialist. Start with a good psychiatrist who will direct you to a trusted psychologist. One of the most effective ways of treating PTSD is cognitive behavioral therapy. If your husband also can't deal with it, you can try some family therapy. If you'd like to talk privately about your problems - don't worry, please text me, I will try to answer as soon as possible!Take care! :-)
