The Independent article actually touches on some of the complexity. A big penis attached to a dummy or fool is a joke too. Not just small guys. I was exposed in HS to a male sports status system. I was swept off my feet by the "high status" guys in sports when I was young and dumb in HS and the big shot hit on me. Penis size was far from my mind when I was first drawn into the high status circle and started having sex, but soon started to get that part of the picture after being passed around and finally gang raped. I am still embarrassed that I was so driven by instinct to seek high status men. Admittedly, all I cared about was that the "sports hero" was held in high esteem by my classmates. I was much like young women flocking after rock stars and gleefully assuming groupie status. I was physically very developed and attractive. I was totally socially determined seeing my worth as determined by the group. I had little idea of the importance of penis size to male hierarchy until I was with the group for a time.
