i don't know what to do anymore:(

i hate college. HATE it.

whenever i sit down in college and try to work i just can't. i don't want to be there. i can't stick it! i'm not even good at art anymore. i clearly shouldn't be there. but there's nothing i can do about it because i have no choice. i hate my life. i have no control over it. i don't want to be alive anymore. it's never going to get better so what's the point? and nothing i do will ever be good enough because i'm stupid. everything's stupid:mad:

Nah, therapists don't get mad.

She'll probably just ask you, How would that make you feel? :-)

About all you can do is keep talking, sweety, and see how it goes.

{Hope Rocker Boy treats you nicely.}

why come they question everything ya say?

that bothers me:mad:

but i have nothing to talk about!!!

i'll end up talking about the weather or something stupid like that!!!

{oh we're just texting, that doesn't mean anything:) he's still too young for me!}

Well, it's better not to look at it as questioning what you say, but just asking questions to try to understand you better. I mean, if you just show up and hope she'll do all the talking, what is it you hope she'll say? She doesn't know you well enough to talk.

Some of them figure that there's no way they can know the "right" questions yet. So she's hoping you'll tell her what's important, to you.

You might be good at it; you're intuitive and caring.

It does take training, though.

That's what's holding me up, at the moment. Trying to decide on at least two more years in school, at my age.

what does intuitive mean?

i don't think i have the brains for it:(

but you'd be a really good therapist fairy godfather!!!

i have a friend who's older than you and she started art college this year!

Well, to me, intuitive means right-brained: able to get ideas through a non-linear process.

Meh, it doesn't take brains so much as empathy (feeling for others) and courage (to face the horrors that people tell you.)

I think I might be good at it, too, little one. I enjoy helping people here. My biggest concern is that I might get dragged into people's problems a bit too much, and not be able to let go and have my own life, too.

I know, it's possible. It's just a difficult change: I'm good with computers, too, and the pay's pretty good. I just ... want to make a difference with people, and that's hard to do in my job now.

Hah, I'm not sure online really works. Sure, we do some good here, but it's not really therapy. We're like an emergency service; people still need their doctors.

Is that what they mean by "agony aunt"? :-)

"Dear Marky". Kinda has a ring to it.

It's also very rewarding, to help with people's problems, sweety. Like everything else, it's a balance.

oh well i've already looked into it. there's only one college that does it in ireland and it only accepts 13 people a year. it nearly impossible to get in because ya need lots of experience and they usually only take on older people anyway. so it's probably not going to happen!

Wow, I'm impressed that you checked; that shows initiative.

Well, so maybe you have to wait a while. That doesn't mean it won't happen. You could come here to train, for one thing. :-) There's always a way, sweety. You just have to find it.

Hmm, I've never looked into how many there are. I imagine there are lots of places you can go, though I don't know about their quality.

Does that girl seem like a good candidate? Have you discussed the idea with her, maybe she has some tips?

she's applying to some colleges in england next year instead because it's easier to get a place there i think. yeah she's a good candidate. she used to go to the college i'm in now and she hated it too. she warned me not to come here:eek:
