I have a 27" inseam. Pants in regular stores might have a 30" inseam in my waist size, or maybe they'll tantalize you with a 29". The idea is to get close, but not so close that you can wear them without hemming them. And I don't sew. ;-)

I see, but I think that if pants are too long it doesn't look as bad as when pants are too short. And they can always be hemmed but they can't always be lengthened.

But....yes, it really sucks when you can't just get what you need. I am envious of people who don't have that problem.
