What's your favorite saying?

There a number I really like. I can't narrow it down to one.

Never attribute to malice that which can adequately be attributed to stupidity.

Never criticize someone before you walk a mile in their shoes, that way you are a mile away from them ... and you have their shoes.

Juvenile 'til senile.

Not all who wander are lost

It's amazing the clarity that comes with psychotic jealousy.

I say there're no depressed words just depressed minds.

I used to live in a room full of mirrors; all I could see was me. I take my spirit and I crash my mirrors, now the whole world is here for me to see.

Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens.

Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is.

No one is free, even the birds are chained to the sky.

Do unto others as you would have others do unto you

It's the crazy people who think they can change the world who actually do

And something I saw on the internet that I liked:

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than explore the power they have to change it.

Impossible is not a fact. It is an opinion.

Impossible is not a declaration. It is a dare.

Impossible is potential.

Impossible is temporary.

Impossible is nothing.

I have two actually. One is mine, one is Kaleb's and Victor has only been around maybe a week at most so he doesn't have one yet. [HAHA]

Mine is: "The proper office of a friend is to side with you when you are in the wrong, nearly anyone will side with you when you are in the right." -Mark Twain.

And Kaleb's is: "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then we shall have peace." -Unknown

I think of music as a gift. It's a way of connecting with our emotions in a very spiritual way. Knowing there is such beauty in the world is often humbling to me. (the endorphin release doesn't hurt either :D) Love your quotes, EN.

Favorite saying? Hmm...I'll have to think on that.

Gots lots of favorites.

~If you're not living on the edge you're taking up to damn much space

~Love's not something we say, it's something that we do

~ There's a dream that will not sleep, a burning hope that will not die.

~However long the night, the dawn will break.

~ Have fun storming the castle!

~We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us -with nothing to show for our progress except the memory of the smell of smoke and the presumption that once our eyes watered.

~ God don't make mistakes

~ Comfortable people don't get anywhere in life.

This is one of my favourite inspirational pieces - I'm sure many of you have come across it. So beautiful.

The Invitation - Oriah Mountain Dreamer

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.

I want to know what you ache for

and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are.

I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool

for love

for your dream

for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon...

I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow

if you have been opened by life's betrayals

or have become shrivelled and closed

from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain

mine or your own

without moving to hide it

or fade it

or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy

mine or your own

if you can dance with wildness

and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes

without cautioning us

to be careful

to be realistic

to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me

is true.

I want to know if you can

disappoint another

to be true to yourself.

If you can bear the accusation of betrayal

and not betray your own soul.

If you can be faithless

and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty

even when it is not pretty

every day.

And if you can source your own life

from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure

yours and mine

and still stand at the edge of the lake

and shout to the silver of the full moon,

"Yes."

It doesn't interest me

to know where you live or how much money you have.

I want to know if you can get up

after the night of grief and despair

weary and bruised to the bone

and do what needs to be done

to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know

or how you came to be here.

I want to know if you will stand

in the centre of the fire

with me

and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom

you have studied.

I want to know what sustains you

from the inside

when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone

with yourself

and if you truly like the company you keep

in the empty moments.

I don't know if any of these showed up earlier here - only got part way through the thread. The first one inspires me. The second, well - I'd like to see how annoying you guys can be!

Life isn't about how you survived the storm, it's about how you danced in the rain.

I have taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Chisholm..that is beautiful. Who wrote it?

These are two of my favourite quotes:

After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music."

Aldous Leonard Huxley

This is a poem I know, but I love what it is saying about all mankind:

No man is an island,

Entire of itself.

Each is a piece of the continent,

A part of the main.

If a clod be washed away by the sea,

Europe is the less.

As well as if a promontory were.

As well as if a manner of thine own

Or of thine friend's were.

Each man's death diminishes me,

For I am involved in mankind.

Therefore, send not to know

For whom the bell tolls,

It tolls for thee.

John Donne
