chillinworried Posted April 10, 2011 Report Share Posted April 10, 2011 Hey I was wondering if watching porn can lead to being a pedophile. I have really bad anxiety worrying that I am a pedophile. Even though I don't look at or masturbate to CP, and I have anxiety attacks for hours if I get a fleeting thought about a kid and I stay away from kids and being near them worries me. I am worried about that and haven't watched porn for months cause I am worried it will lead me to being a pedophile. What do you all think... Having a fleeting thought of a child, for a split second, against your will, seems more like a sign of sexual obsessions rather than an attraction to children.About pornography - Watching grownups have sex or fantasizing about grownups cannot make you a pedophile! However, when you are having bad sexual fears, it can be nice to simply stay away from excessive sexual imagery. Darkness Posted April 23, 2011 Report Share Posted April 23, 2011 This same exact paragraph I have seen somewhere else on these forums before.Porn can't do that.Though without porn I would of never realized some stuff I was into though, but Child Pornography isn't something you will suddenly stumble upon, most sites remove that shit real quick. All sites I go to have a strict policy for that stuff. Even finding a site that has this stuff is extremely hard, so it isn't like the 'gateway' idea would really work anyway since anything put anywhere easily found is removed within hours.Sounds more like you have a phobia (clinical word for irrational fear). If you have some therapist you can talk to you might want to mention any phobias/fears you have that stop you from being able to live fully. Just because you have a fleeting thought about the child, doesn't mean you are attracted to them. I could have had a fleeting thought about a male, it doesn't mean I'm attracted to them. Guest GingerSnap Posted August 22, 2011 Report Share Posted August 22, 2011 Another thing to watch out for on the porn sites that I have seen mentioned is "barely" legal where they are trying to serve the need/desire/promotion with maybe a little older person that looks younger or is made up to look younger. If barely legal turns out to not be legal.................we have seen a lot of stings in our area recently. I am wondering do you legal trouble or trouble with your mental health? I am sure you have heard that thousands, if not more, are addicted to porn? Does everyone become addicted? No, but if you do get to the point of "need" it can cause problems in your life so you might want to do some reading on that and see where others have gone with it.
