Fear of people and near blind

It's interesting that you don't mention your children until the end ... After all, they imply that at least at some point in time, you got close to a "people".

You mentioned that your job abuses your potential; that seems likely (I feel similarly about mine), but it does raise the question of what you feel your potential may be? Okay, it won't be a job working with your eyes, but you clearly have a sharp enough mind to do something with. For instance, you could be an author ... Many people use screen readers to allow them to take in information non-visually.

You also didn't say much about how you acquired your "fear of people", as an extrovert. Having a hard time seeing people would certainly maintain that fear, but something else probably started it.
