planetstrands Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 i have a friend who has a history of prescription drug dependency. he feels that he can drink very moderately at social occasions... he does not drink much, at all and rarely has more than one drink. he never drinks every day. he doesn't like being drunk and has zero history of problems w/ alcohol. i wonder if anyone here has ever seen someone drink very moderately after a prescription drug addiction with success? xenophon Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Your post does not describe a problem. If he carefully monitors his alcohol intake, he will know if one arises. if one arises, he will do what needs to be done. Quote
SomeonefromNH Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 IMO, alcohol becomes a problem when you feel that you won't have fun without it. OR, if you drink as a way of dealing with problems and stresses.Good luck, and remember that there is never a better time than now to confront a problem. Quote
smallstar Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 I have a problem with prescription drugs myself. I would be very careful if I were him. Unlike him when I do not have or can not get prescription drugs I will drink till I am drunk. I do use alcohol when I can not get pills. I don't know how your friend feels but I know that is my only alternative . Quote
