Xander Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 I just realized something, which I know my shrink has pointed out in the past. I think I react to things binary, meaning that I'm pretty bad at taking a situation in as a whole and just react immediately 100% to what was just said or what just happened. If someone say something upsetting my whole body goes on alert and I feel this sense of dread, but then if the situation seems to resolve itself I calm down. I've also got comments about it that I should calm down because I read too much into scraps of information, kind of like I'm seeking out reasons for being calm. Do other people experience this sense of overreacting, or a feeling of going between two extremes in terms of stress? In that case what are your coping-strategies?
