I am new to this so I hope I am doing this correctly. I have a couple of people very close to me with mental illness. Both do not work and see psych doctors & therapists regularly. My question is does anyone know if Bipolar Disease causes people to act more childlike as they get older or could it be the medications treating this illness. Thank you!:)

Bipolar Disorder affects people's moods; it is not a cognitive disorder, like a dementia. I am not aware of any progressive child-like condition that can come out of it except for maybe people feeling more helpless to control their lives which might lead to increasing dependency. the short answer is that in most cases Bipolar would not lead to a normal tendency to become more childlike.
