TheLightIsFading
Hi. It's been awhile since I've been on here, as my last post was about my little brother's nightmares. As of right now, he's doing fine. His nightmares have gone away and my family is currently seeking therapy for him. Overall, things are going decent for me. But there is one thing that I'm scared about. I'm a thirteen year old female, with no sexual activity. You may ask, "What does that have to do with anything?" but trust me, it's important. You see, I haven't menstruated in almost two months, and I'm worried. I have missed periods in the past, but never two months in a row. Like I said, I have no sexual activity. I'm planning to talk to my mother about this later today, as she is at work right now, but I'm scared on how I should approach her about it, as she would probably accuse me of having sex. I don't have any symptoms of pregnancy, either. Before I did that, I'd like to get an idea of what's going on from the community before I talk to my mother about it or jump to conclusions. Thank you. IrmaJean
Hello. I'm sorry this is causing you stress and worry. This has happened to my daughter too and she is 14 years old. Sometimes our bodies need some time to settle into a routine with our cycles. That can take a few years with teenage girls. Sometimes stress or diet, weight loss, or possibly issues with our thyroid or hormones could play a role too. It isn't uncommon, from what I have learned, but I think it's a good idea to share this with your mom as soon as possible. That way you can have support with this and also visit a doctor for a health check. I hope your mom is supportive when you speak with her about this. I'm glad your brother is doing better and is getting support from a therapist. That is very good news. Take care, TheLightIsFading.
