Porn Addiction

I just found these forums and it looks like a nice place to get a good start in the right direction. Here's some background information:

I'm 23, male, and married.

I can't remember exactly when I started taking a fascination with women. I know it was fairly young though. Around 11 or 12 I started sneaking peaks at Victoria Secret catalogs left on the counter at home. A little while later, I was nabbing the ones that were being thrown away and storing them in my room. This continued on for a while, along with masturbation. Until around 14 or 15 I believe. I got a computer in my room, where I started looking at more intense stuff on the computer. I started out only with softcore because hardcore disgusted me, but throughout the years went on to hardcore. I got married 2 months ago, and have been trying to stop for years. But just as easily as I can go months without a problem, I suddenly will get a strong urge to just go look at stuff. Usually doesn't start out with looking at porn though. Normally it will be a dailybabe app on a website or something, and I'll go through and look at those until I want to go further and watch something more involved.

I'm not exactly sure what all my triggers are, or how to stop them. I am looking to stop entirely though.

Side note: I LOVE women. Everything about them. All their curves, different looks, everything. So when I see an attractive figure on TV or Computer, or even in person, I feel the need to study them and see everything there is to see of them. Obviously this is part of the problem, just thought I should mention it.

(Please move to Sexuality Issues after I'm repped up or whatever please! Thanks!)

Well first of all, let me tell you that you shouldnt be ashamed of this, because MANY guys are the same way, and always feel the need to looking at porn.. I know its bad, but its nature... be glad that you have a strong attraction to woman and that you are a normal guy. But if you really wanna stop looking at porn, but you can't seem to quit... try seein a therapist. The shrink can analyze you and tell you WHY you feel the need to see it so much, and they will tell you how to overcome your addiction

Hi Someguy1,

I do not understand your request about getting moved into the sexuality forum because this IS the sexuality forum. You are in the correct place, unless I do not understand you. Could you clarify?

I agree with OCDme123. Both men and women have super powerful sexual urges. Philosophers and psychologists have written about this going back to the beginning of recorded time. At your age, of course you are driven by the power of your sexual desires.

What I would like to ask you about is your sexual relationship with your wife. Do the two of you have sex often and as often as you would like? Does she like to do all the things you wish she could do? Are the two of you honest with each other about your sexual wishes?

If you can, it would help to answer those types of questions. However, I understand that this is very intimate and you may not want to.

Allan ;)

I think your issue might be with guilt rather than your sex drive. Everyone watches hardcore porn, even women. Hell, I beat off like five times a day. Repressing that shit is unhealthy, no matter what anyone tells you. I know that when I don't beat off or look at porn for a while, I go crazy. Besides, what are you thinking about when you beat off? The same kind of shit that goes on in hardcore porn, right?

If you're worried about the exploitation of women, just watch gay porn. If it's not your thing, then I'm pretty sure there are some porn companies out there that are like free-range, organic shit.

If it's that you're married, then you need to realize that even if she doesn't watch porn, your wife probably fantasizes about other guys sometimes. It's not cheating. It's not weird. It's just human nature. We want to fuck everything. Porn might actually help you to stay faithful. Hell, see if she wants to watch it with you. That could be a lot of fun.

Seriously, why are you feeling so guilty over something so mundane? There are WAY kinkier things than porn out there. Hell, one of my favorites is, like, not beating off to porn for a long time. To me, that's dirty.
