Yes, I do try to imagine being past it. In fact the day the papers are signed, I think my brain is going to be totally convinced that my kids were immaculately conceived:D and that their earthly dad never existed. I'm in therapy partly for the support of getting through this, but mostly so I can make sure that I will never ever let myself get abused and manipulated again. It's also been eye opening as to how patterns cross generations. Kind of ironic that I was pretty much forced into this therapy by Children's Aid. It will have a huge positive impact on my kids once we're through this.
