Turning off blog comments

Hi there,

I've tried to change my settings so that people can't comment on my blogs but it doesn't seem to be working. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi Calla,

when you're in your blog you'll see the "options" link on the left side of the page. click on "blog control" and you'll see a bunch of options. Unclick that friends and visitors can reply to your blog. that should work....I hope

thanks for that. I have done that already and a couple of people have since been able to comment. So not sure why it hasn't worked. I wonder if moderators are allowed to comment regardless of settings maybe?

that's probably it. I'll let them all know that you do not want them to comment on your blog and would like to have it only for personal use. Sorry about any hurt or frustration this has caused you

Thank you both. I like using it as a way of getting my thoughts out and so I am happy for people to read it if they like. Knowing my words might be heard. But it's clear at the moment I am struggling to not take everything as a criticism (my fault no one elses) so think its best if people dont' comment. Thats not to say I dont appreciate all the time people have taken
