four years isn't as long as you'd think, well I guess unless you hate it the whole time, then it could be pretty long, but my sister has been in school forever, but she seems to like it, so maybe that makes a difference. Maybe if you were able to find a college or a course you like, it would be worth the time it takes to get there.

You haven't liked anything about this college. Can you visit some other campuses?

i don't think i'll be able to stay doing this course for 4 whole years. i don't feel happy there.

i visited all the art colleges in ireland last year when i was doing all my interviews.

We have activity therapists that work in homes for the elderly, for example, and run all the activities that they do. It looks kind of exhausting, but people would say what I do is exhausting, so it just depends on what your passion is I guess.

do you need to visit again, with fresh eyes?

yeah, I think it is important blossom that you enjoy something about your job. So if you can set it up that way through education it would make your life a little more pleasant. I never did the school thing, got thrown into my job, and there is nothing enjoyable about it.

There is always going to be stuff to hate about having to work, but I really do love what I do with the kids, and the only way I get to do it is with my degree. There's other stuff you could do without a degree, but it usually takes some planning or connections, and all of that is possible!!

They encourage us to "job shadow" before committing ourselves to a college program... that really does help you to know if it's really what you want to do...

i did job shadowing when i was in school. i did one week in a photographers, one week in a vets, one week in a graphic designers and one week in this boring business place [ i had to be receptionist for the week coz the real receptionist was off getting married and people kept ringing up and asking stuff about setting up businesses and i had to try answer them. it was HORRIBLE! ].

see, there are things i'd like to do but dunno if i'd be good at.

hmm, well you don't really want someone to decide for you because it's your life, and it will be your career, what I am trying to say is you will be spending alot of timing doing whatever it is you choose, so you want to enjoy what you do, so you're not miserable. Do you like working with kids?

i dunno coz i don't have much experience with kids.

well, first of all, you're smart, so with training you'd have the educational part down.

and secondly, you seem to have the personality for it, very patient. I see you as a patient person.
