"Happy is the man, and happy he alone,

Who can call today his own.

He who, secure within, can say:

'Tomorrow, do thy worst, for I have lived today'."

Either that, or Psalms 130:3--4: "If you, oh Lord, kept a record of sins, oh Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, therefore you are feared."

Both, I think, are pretty powerful :D

I have a few...

Serious ones:

"Between the idea

And the reality

Between the motion

And the act

Falls the Shadow"

-T.S Eliot

"The still point to the turning word is to be found within"

-T.S Eliot

"There is an aristocracy of the sensitive. They represent the true human tradition of permanent victory over cruelty and chaos." - E. M. Forster

Less serious:

"Needs must when the devil vomits in your kettle" - Blackadder

"I don't like having feelings," Eric (the vampire) said coldly, and he left.

That was a tough exit line to top."

— Charlaine Harris (Club Dead)

PS: I have become a recent True Blood junkie. I hugely recommend the series to anyone wanting to have a good laugh and feel the need to look at things on the lighter side!! I certainly needed to.
