Dirtydeak
The infection by Disturbed. This song makes me think of all my past wrongs that just fester in me. They have to be forgiven and let go.The Infection lyricsIn the back of my mind I canBarely even remember whenThere was nothing left to hide andShe had found a way inside, thenI was forced to walk aloneLiving in an empty homeAll I wanted was to hide andTry to numb the ache insideAnd I'm still afraid of the lightAnd a thousand voices share their laughter at my demiseNow if I am to surviveThe infection must dieMurder the beast that's been eating me aliveThe infection must dieNothing left but a broken manTerrified of everythingNothing left of his foolish pride, hisFond memories slowly die, thenAs he wakes again aloneStill a prisoner in his homeReady to allow the dark toPenetrate his broken heartAnd I'm still afraid of the lightAnd a thousand voices share their laughter at his demise(Chorus x 2)This is where I draw the lineThis infection must dieGive me release from this demon of mineThe infection must dieThe infection must Die

Athena
Lately, I've become attached to Leonard Cohen's "Everybody knows". Everybody knows the dice are loaded,Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed,Everybody knows the war is over.Everybody knows the good guys lost.Everybody knows the fight was fixed. The poor stay poor stay poor and the rich stay rich. That's how it goes.Everybody knows.Everybody knows, everybody knows, that's how it goes...Everybody knows.Everybody knows the boat is leaking.Everybody knows the captain lied.Everybody's got this sinking feelingLike their father or their dog just died.Everybody's reaching for their pocketsEverybody wants a box of chocolates or a long stemmed rose.Everybody knows.Well, you can look up the rest. Anyway, I'm inspired by a guy who can still tour in his 80's, can sing depressing (yet beautiful) songs and his music is respected and played by so many other artists. Athena
Today I was belting out Johnny Reid's "Today I'm Gonna Try and Change the World" as I drove my kids to school. Singing while driving has become a habit over the last year. I find the song very inspiring: "Today I'm gonna try and change the world. I'm gonna take it one day at a time. I've made my resolution. I've opened up my eyes. Today I'm going to try and change the world...." Anyway I asked my kids how they liked it and they both did. Then I asked if they liked it better than "Broken Promises" by Alicia Keys, which I was belting out a year ago. (a pretty depressing, angry song). As I started singing it again today, they both yelled, "STOP" at the same time. I guess I'm starting to feel better, and so are they!
Endlessnight
I still remember the first time I heard Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli sing 'Time to Say Goodbye'. I had only recently bought a computer and the internet and I was in an online room. Someone started playing it and I felt as though an electric shock had gone through me. I couldn't stop crying, it was so beautiful. It reminded me of how much I had been missing by not listening to music for years.
