oh blossomy, Japanese aesthetics was a MAJOR influence on artists like Van Gogh, Matisse, Picasso... etc... the flat planes of color and lyric bold line inspired all kinds of 19th and 20th century art!!!! You just need a good source to read, it is very interesting stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
