Not if we're talking surface area, little B. :-P

Programming takes some left-brain, true, but there's a creative part to it, too. Another idea I had was to all do Sudoku together at WebSudoku.com; just different levels depending on experience.

Well, I used to think that about drawing, too. Not that I'm that great at it, yet. It's harder to make the shift by yourself, I think. It would help to have a person talk you through it, I feel like. I managed to do some of the easier exercises, like copying upside down. But I've tried a couple of times, and my (left) brain isn't letting my hand go and do its stuff. It keeps interfering, then I look at the result (even if it's just a few lines) and hate it.

I'm still enjoying trying, though. Plus, it lets me ask 'finding' irritating questions that she doesn't have any words to answer with, because there are no words.

Nope, we don't get what you guys call bank holidays. Ours coincide more often with historical events ... Our next one is a long weekend at the end of August, beginning of September (it varies from year to year, and I haven't looked at this year's, yet), called Labor Day. But we just had a holiday July 4th, for Independence Day.

Now, here are the rules: Each number from 1 to 9 must occur once and only once in each row, column and 3x3 block.

So, look at the top row: you can see it's missing the 1, 5, and 9. Now look at the 3x3 block in the top right corner (I'll just call them 'block's from now on): it already contains a 1. That means the 1 that the top row needs can't be in the last two squares, because their block already has a 1. That means that the square at the left end of the top row must be a 1.

I was hoping that having the picture that goes along with it might help ... :-)

Meh, I still can't process which direction the lines in my drawings are supposed to go, and the thing I'm supposed to be drawing is right there in front of me. ;-)

Maybe together, we make one complete brain.

Do you tilt to the right when you think? :-P

Nah, you're not left-brainless, any more than I'm completely right-brainless. I think we both just take more effort to cross over to the other side.

"Why did the Blossom cross her brain?

To get the point of Sudoku."

It's a brain-teaser, and the point of teasing a brain is to make it grow, to make it a little easier to use.
