I just googled shamanism in ireland and turns out i do know what it is only i didn't know it was called shamanism!!! Have you ever heard of newgrange?

No, what's that?

It's the most famous passage grave in ireland. I think it must have something to do with shamanism because it's on the website. it was built in the stone age times and it's famous for it's roofbox. every year on the 21st of december the rising sun shines in through the roofbox, down through the passage and it lights up the chamber floor. We had to write lots of essays on this for art history in school!!!

That would have been the period of the Druids, in Ireland.

Well, I forget most of it now but a passage grave is where the stone age people buried important people when they died but i don't think there were any bodies found in newgrange so people think it was used for ceremonial purposes and to worship the sun. A lot of the kerbstones used to build it were highly decorated with spirals and lozenges and zigzag designs. The essays were mostly about how primitive the artwork was back then compared to now.

kinda i think. but I feel happy talking about newgrange!!! I haven't talked about it in agess!!! If I were to be an art teacher, part of the course is to teach about newgrange! I was there last year. it's really cool!!!!

I'll be it's crowded during solstice time!!!! There are shadows on the North side of my house that can only be there in summer because of the movement of the sun. I painted them one summer, because I thought they were beautiful.

I think you have to book it a year in advance if you want to see the solstice. If you go on a tour on any other day they just use a torch to light it up. there's a bat in the chamber!! the sun is so pretty!!

hmmmmm not really but my friend is in a trad band. she plays the accordian. I have an idea - you could start a band!!!! sometimes I play the harmonica, not very well though!!!
