malign 669 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share When I worked in a drugstore, the teenagers who worked afternoons used to hollow out the stacks of boxes in the back room and hide in there to sleep. It was always fun catching them. :-) Quote Link to comment
malign 669 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share What was funny was how hard they were willing to work in order to goof off. Quote Link to comment
Blossom 3 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share they actually slept?!?! maybe i'll try it sometime.. Quote Link to comment
malign 669 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share Well, it depends how long they were in there before I got suspicious that there was no one out on the floor. :-)They weren't the brightest bulbs, if you know what I mean; giggling and whispering to each other and wondering how I could tell they were in there when I had stacked the boxes there myself that morning. Blossom 3 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share ha:Dwere you in charge?why come teenagers sleep so much? Quote Link to comment
malign 669 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share I wasn't a manager, but I was a floor supervisor, which meant I was supposed to worry about them whenever I wasn't worried about something else. :-)Teenagers sleep so much because:a) They're growing. They stay up all night partying.c) They haven't learned any sort of balance yet.d) All of the above. Quote Link to comment
Blossom 3 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share they seem kinda like monsters... Quote Link to comment
malign 669 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share What, teenagers? :-)No, most of them are great. After all, they're just kids. They're just transitioning into adults, and that's hard for everybody. There's lots to learn, lots of decisions to make about who you're going to be.Some of them become monsters, but none of them "have to".Even the kids who were hiding in the boxes probably didn't turn into monsters. They learned about giving their employer a fair return for their salary, and went on to become productive adults. It's just an adventure helping them learn that, that's all. :-) Quote Link to comment
smallstar 83 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share when I worked at the theater, most of the employees had no work ethic whatsoever. All teenagers. Quote Link to comment
malign 669 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share No work ethic, and pimples, are how I recognize teenagers. :-)Most of 'em grow out of it.Why is your sister a monster, little one? Is YKW grooming her specially? Quote Link to comment
smallstar 83 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share my youngest brother is 19, still a teenager, but you'd think he was an old man the way he acts at a job, very take charge. Quote Link to comment
